Uncle killed by 2 nephews in Madhukhali
A man named Jahangir Biswas (48) was killed after being struck with sticks by his two nephews following a land dispute in Madhukhali, Faridpur.
The incident occurred around 10:00 AM on Friday (September 25) at Biswaspara in Dumain village, under Dumain Union of the upazila. The deceased, Jahangir Biswas, was the son of the late Badiar Biswas. The accused, Shakil Biswas (25) and Simon Biswas (22), are the sons of Zakir Biswas. They were related as uncle and nephews.
According to police and local sources, a land dispute had been ongoing between Mohammad Jahangir Biswas-the younger son of the late Badiar Biswas-and his elder brother, Zakir Biswas.
On Friday morning, an argument broke out between the two parties over the land issue; during the altercation, Jahangir Biswas was critically injured after being struck with sticks by his nephews, Shakil Biswas and Simon Biswas. He died while being taken to the Madhukhali Upazila Health Complex.
Dr. Kabir Hossain, Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of Madhukhali Upazila Health Complex, said, “Jahangir Biswas died before he could be brought to the hospital. However, there were multiple injury marks on his head.”
Confirming the incident, Maruf Hasan, Inspector (Investigation) of Madhukhali Police Station, stated that Jahangir Biswas was killed by blows from sticks wielded by his nephews-Shakil Biswas and his brother Simon Biswas-following an argument over a land dispute. Legal proceedings regarding the incident are currently underway.
