AL gets 4, one independent candidate wins in Jamalpur

Awali League (AL) has won 4 out of 5 constituencies in the 12th National Assembly Elections and independent candidates have won 1 seat with huge vote margin in Jamalpur district. In Jamalpur-1 (Dewanganj-Bakshiganj) constituency, Bangladesh Awami League nominee Noor Mohammad (Nauka) has won by getting 2 lakh 48 thousand 768 votes. His closest rival Jatiya Party nominated (langol) candidate SM Abu Sayem got 6700 votes.
In Jamalpur-2 Islampur constituency, Bangladesh Awami League nominee Faridul Haque Khan Dulal (Boat) was elected informally with 70 thousand 762 votes from this seat. Shahinuzzaman in Kanchi symbol got 30 thousand 548 votes from his nearest rival.
In Jamalpur-3 (Melandah-Madarganj) constituency, Awami League nominee Mirza Azam (Nanok) won by 2 lakh 76 thousand 453 votes. His nearest rival Jatiya Party (Langal) Mir Shamsul Alam Lipton got 7 thousand 470 votes.
Jamalpur-4, Sarishabari constituency, independent candidate Principal Abdur Rashid of Truck symbol has won by 50 thousand 678 votes. His nearest rival Mahbubur Rahman Nauka got 47 thousand 638 votes.
In Jamalpur-5 Sadar Constituency, Awami League nominated heavyweight candidate Abul Kalam Azad of Boat symbol won by getting 2 lakh 49 thousand 13 votes from Jamalpur Sadar Constituency. His nearest rival Rezaul Karim Reznu got 65 thousand 249 votes for Eagle. Meanwhile, independent candidate of Jamalpur-5 Sadar Constituency, Rezaul Karim Reznu, announced the boycott of the election around noon alleging that his agents were expelled from the poll centres. Jatiya Party candidate for Jamalpur-3 constituency Mir Shamsul Alam Lipton announced boycott of the election around 3 pm. He alleged that ballot-stuffing was done publicly. His agent has been expelled from the centre.
