250 risk-prone polling centers in Barishal division

All preparations have been completed for the 12th National Assembly elections in 21 constituencies in 6 districts and 42 upazilas of Barishal division. Now the stakeholders are only waiting for a free, fair and impartial polling.
Regional election officer of Barishal, Md. Alauddin confirming the report said that the recruitment and training program of all those involved with the polling including the law enforcement forces, presiding officers, has been completed.
Out of 2,818 polling stations of the division, ballot papers to 250 risk-prone stations will be provided with ballots on Saturday. The ballot to rest vote centers will be sent as per the instructions on the polling day i.e. January 7 morning.
Regional Election Officer Md.Alauddin said, we are committed to the people for conducting free fair elections. For that purpose, sufficient law and order forces are being deployed on polling day. Law enforcing agencies have already continued their activities around the entire election process.
According to the regional election officer’s office, the number of voters in 21 constituencies in Barishal division is 74 lakh 23 thousand 522, out of which 37 lakh 74 thousand 148 men and 36 lakh 49 thousand 317 women. There are also 57 Hijra voters.
And 17 thousand 296 polling rooms including 8 thousand 116 for men and 9 thousand 180 for women have been prepared for the voters in 2 thousand 818 polling stations.
