JBCCI awarded 3 Bangladeshi firms

Japan-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JBCCI) on the occasion of its 10th founding anniversary has awarded three Bangladeshi companies for their contribution to strengthening business relations between Bangladesh and Japan.
Japan Ambassador Shiro Sadoshima attended the ceremony as chief guest while JBCCI honorary executive director Dr AKM Moazzem Hossain presided over the programme held at Kurmitola Golf Club recently.
The three awardees are: OP-seed Company Bangladesh, Bangladesh Steel Rerolling Mills and Matin Spinning Mills Ltd.
The OP-Seed Company, established in 1997 in Chittagong Export Processing Zone. The company is cent-percent Japan-invested firm which is producing over 100 types of products and exported to Japan.
The Bangladesh Steel Rerolling Mills (BSRM) awarded for serving Bangladesh with quality steels since 1952. And Matin Spinning won the award for introducing special kind of yarn named Napy Yarn produced from garment waste.
Later, a special lecture on Japan-Bangladesh relationship and investment scenario in the country was arranged.
Former ambassador and incumbent President of Japan-Bangladesh Society (JBS) Matsushiro Horiguchi in his lecture said, “JBCCI has been playing its important role in realizing the investment environment”. He added, “Bangladesh has been showing its conspicuous economic and social development”.
Kei Kawano, President of Japan External Trade Organisation, Tareq Rafi Bhuiyan and Shamsul Alam Jahangir of JBCCI were present on the occasion.
