Half of polling centres in city vulnerable: DMP

There are 2146 polling centers in the Dhaka city and half of those are considered vulnerable, said Habibur Rahman, Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

“DMP has undertaken a plan for security arrangements, considering half of the polling centre out of 2,146 to be vulnerable,” he said this while talking to journalists after attending the textbook distribution at Rajarbagh Police Lines School and College.

He also claimed that the stern security measures have already taken by DMP.

All preparations centering the upcoming 7 January election are going on in full swing and voting will be held in a free, fair and peaceful manner, Commissioner said.

Alongside police, Ansar members will remain vigilant to maintain law and order inside the polling centers while patrol teams and striking force will perform their duties outside the centre, the DMP commissioner added.
