CIC calls for voluntary disclosure of information

Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) Dr Abdul Malek on Sunday reiterated his call for voluntary disclosure of information as per the Right to Information (RTI) Act.
“It is essential for the people to get authentic and real information. Correct information plays an important role for increasing transparency and accountability. We can destroy the scope of violence and anxiety, which is created by falsehood, misinformation from un-edited platforms, among people through the flow of authentic information,” he said, reports BSS.
The CIC came up with the observation while addressing as the chief guest a workshop on RTI Act, 2009, and citizen charter organized by Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK), a press release said here today.
Dr Abdul Malek said the RAJUK’s activities in providing information are satisfactory.
