BNP leader Dudu on fresh remand

A Dhaka court on Monday placed BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s adviser Shamsuzzam Dudu on a four-day fresh remand in a case filed for hurling cocktails towards a passenger bus in Mirpur area of the city.
Magistrate Mahbubur Rahman of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the order of remand after hearing on the plea of the prosecution.
Earlier, Mirpur Police Station Sub-Inspector Quamrul Hossain produced Shamsuzzaman Dudu to the court with a fresh remand plea of seven days on completion of
seven days’ remand in two cases. On January 11, police arrested Dudu from Mirpur area of city.
On January 12, Dhaka CMM Court Magistrate Mohammad Aminul Islam placed Shamsuzzaman Dudu on a five-day remand in a case filed under the Special Power Act. Later, on January 28, Magistrate Asaduzzaman Nur of the CMM Court granted a 2-day remand against Dudu in another case filed on charge of sabotage.
