Unidentified woman’s body recovered in Lohagara

Police recovered the half-melted body of an unidentified woman from the hilly area of Adhunagar Union of Lohagara, Chittagong. On Thursday (December 21) afternoon, the body was recovered from a hilly area called Golaimma Ghonar of Kulpagli, Ward No. 4 of the Union.
Locals said that in the afternoon, a man named Abul Faiz went to cut vines for tying bamboo to a water barge in the hills. When a bad smell came out, he went and saw the half-melted body.
Later, local UP member was informed and police came and recovered the body and took it to the police station.
The body was wearing a black burqa, with a pair of sandals next to it. No one can say anything about how the body got here. It seems the woman to be a resident of another area.
Farid Ahmad, a local UP member, said, “I am from Cox’s Bazar. The local chakidar and some locals called me and told me about this. Even after asking many people in the vicinity, no identity was found. The police came and took the body away.”
OC Rashedul Islam was called several times to know about this, but no response was received.
