Ship carrying metro rail apparatus arrives at Mongla Port

A foreign commercial ship named “MV. Phoenix Coral” carrying the national flag of Panama loaded with metro rail apparatus arrived at Mongla Sea Port in Wednesday in the evening and anchored with the Jetty No.8 of the port.
The ship was carrying the various apparatus and tools weighing 194.510 metric tons for the metro rails left the Kobe Sea Port of Japan in the first week of the month of November for Mongla Port.
Md. Rafikul Islam, an officer of M/S. Ancient Steam Ship Company, the local agent of the foreign ship told, the unloading work of the imported materials was already started at the night and after the completion of the works the machinery goods will be sent to Dhaka. The officer added, a foreign ship carrying 6 coaches as the first consignment of the metro rails arrived at Mongla Port on March 28 in the last year. All the materials of the metro rails were imported unloaded and transported works were done through the Mongla Port so far under the Mega Project of the Government.
