Shuvo, Mohiuddin elected President, Secy of DRU

Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Deputy Chief Reporter Syed Shukur Ali Shuvo and Desh TV Special Correspondent Mohiuddin have been elected President and General Secretary respectively of Dhaka Reporters unity (DRU) for the next one year.
Senior journalist Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul, chief election commissioner of DRU elections, announced the result on Thursday (November 30) evening.
The DRU election voting began at 9am and continued till 5pm without any break.
The result was announced on Thursday evening on the premises of DRU Bhaban following the counting of the ballots.
Shuvo became the president bagging 583 votes while his nearest contestant Shakhawat Hossain Badsha got 429 votes. BSS Senior Reporter Kabir Ahmed Khan secured 357 votes and Jahirul Haque Rana 12 votes in the same post.
Mohiuddin was elected General Secretary securing 607 votes while his nearest contestant Mainul Hasan Sohel got 471 votes and Abdullah Al Kafi secured 307 votes.
Shafiqul Islam Shamim was elected Vice-President bagging 453 votes, Mohammad Mizanur Rahman was Elected Joint Secretary with 757 votes, Mohammad Zakir Hossain Treasurer with 763 votes, Khalid Saifullah was elected Organizing Secretary with 385 votes, Rafiq Rafi Office Secretary with 965 votes, Mahmuda Dolly Women Affairs Secretary with 680 votes, Sushanta Kumar Saha Publicity and Publications Affairs Secretary with 705 votes, Mohammad Rashim Mollah ICT and training affairs secretary, Mahbubur Rahman sports secretary, Mohammad Manwar Hossain Cultural Affairs Secretary unopposed, Mohammad Salim Ullah Hospitality Secretary with 659 votes, Mohammad Tanvir Ahmed Welfare Secretary with 867 votes.
Elected members are Mohammad Habib Rahman with 909 votes, Farhana Yasmin Juthi with 846 votes, Sayeed Shipon with 838 votes, Mohibullah Muhib with 677 votes, Rafiq Mridha with 614 votes, Delwar Hossain Mohin with 610 votes and Mohammad Shariful Islam with 557 votes.
According to report, total 1,404 votes were cast in the election of which Shuvo got 583 votes and Mohiuddin got 607 votes.
