Public hearing gas price hike from Feb 2

UNB, Dhaka :A four-day public hearing is set to begin on Monday on the proposals for hiking gas price submitted by six state-owned gas distribution companies to the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC).BERC officials said the hearing will take place at the TCB auditorium, a venue located at the same building of the energy watchdog where a similar four-day hearing was held on the proposals for power tariff hike.The regulatory body will also hold hearing on gas transmission tariff hike proposal submitted by the state-owned Gas Transmission Company Limited (GTCL).The other six gas distribution companies are Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Ltd (Titas T&D), Pashchimanchal Gas Company Limited, Bakhrabad Gas Distribution Company Limited, Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited, Jalalabad Gas Transmission and Distribution System Limited, and Sundarbans Gas Company Limited.
