Bagerhat woman UP member killed in road mishap

Lipika Biswas (45), a woman UP member of Charbaniary Union Parishad under Chitalmari Upazila in Bagerhat district met a tragic end when she fell down from a running motor cycle on Bagerhat-Chitalmari Highway at Depara-Ararkhal area on Wednesday morning, according to a delayed report received here.
It is learnt from Ranajit Kumar Biswas, the motor cyclist that in the morning (Wednesday) the ill-fated UP member was coming to Bagerhat district town from her residence by his motor bike as a co-rider and when they reached the place of occurrence the UP member, somehow, fell down from the running motor bike and injured fatally. She was rushed to Bagerhat district Sadar Hospital where the physician on duty declared her dead. It was confirmed by Ashok Kumar Baral, Chairman of Chitalmari Upazila Parishad.
The deceased UP member Lipika Biswas was the wife of one late Subodh Biswas of village Uttar Charbuniaary. She left behind one son-Ashit Biswas (24), one daughter-Arpita Biswas (27) and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn her death.
