2 held with fuel oil from foreign ship

Two members of an organized gang of thieves were arrested along with trawler loaded with fuel oil (diesel) while the fuel oil was being smuggled out from a foreign commercial ship that was staying in the Harbour area of Mongla Sea Port by the police in the evening (at 7-30 pm) of Monday, according to a report receive here.
Acting on secret information that diesel oil is being smuggled out from a foreign ship a police squad led by Mushfiqur Rahman Tushar, Assistant Police Super of Mongla Circle under Bagerhat district conducted a raid in the river Pashur at the night and at about 8 am the police contingent found a speeding mechanized trawler in the Pashur channel of Mongla Port the raiders (police) asked it (trawler) to stop. But the smugglers sensing the appearance of police defied the asking and tried to flee away.
