Ishwardi bomb blast: 8 accused in case

A case has been filed against 8 people in connection with the momentous bomb blast, vandalism of trucks and arson on the railway line at Ishwardi railway gate. On November 6, Ishwardi police station SI Subrata Kumar filed this case as the plaintiff.

The accused are Mehdi Hasan (35), Member Secretary of Ishwardi Upazila Swachhsevak Dal, Zakir Hossain Jewel (45), General Secretary of Paur Jubodal, Rubel (25) of Shailpara area, Ripon alias China Ripon (35) of Paschim Skulpara, Shahin (46) of Shailpara, Mamun of Shailpara. Hossain (30), Rashedul Islam (45) of North Piarakhal and Milan Rabidas alias Mochi Milan (27) of Skulpara Muchipara area.

It is known that in support of the blockade, 20-25 youths of BNP came to the railway gate and threw 6 cocktails in a row. They then set fire to the railway line and raised slogans in support of the blockade. A truck rammed near the rail gate and smashed the front glass. People panicked when the cocktails exploded one after the other with a loud noise.
