‘Letogaan’, ‘Kobigaan’ at Shilpakala Academy
Nazrul Barsho celebrations are being organised by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) under the auspices of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
Various events including discussion programmes, special programmes with the participation of children and teenagers and musical evenings have already been held.
In continuation of the Nazrul Barsho celebrations, the BSA has organised a special cultural evening ‘Nazrul’s Letogaan and Kobigaan’.
This cultural evening will be held today (Thursday evening) at the National Music and Dance Centre
auditorium of the BSA, said a press release.
The programme will begin at 6:30pm.
The first part is a discussion programme. Minister of Cultural Affairs Nitai Roy Chowdhury will be the chief guest. State Minister for Culture Ali Newaz Mahmud Khayyam and Prime Minister’s Information and Broadcasting Advisor Zahed Ur Rahman will be special guests. Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs Kaniz Mowla will preside over the program.
Director General of BSA Sheikh Rezauddin Ahmed (Rezauddin Stalin) will deliver
the welcome speech.
The second part of the event will begin at 7:30pm. This part will feature ‘Letogaan’
and ‘Kobigaan’ performed by various artistes.
Nazrul’s songs are not just melodies, but also the life stories of the people of Bengal. Nazrul found a unique language from the simple yet deep vitality of
Bengal’s folk life and culture.
