Academic activities at DIU suspended

Daffodil International University has announced a 10-day holiday considering the safety of the students as a clash broke out between them and the locals on Sunday night.

The students have been asked to leave the university hall as soon as possible.

After a clash between the university students and locals in Ashulia’s Changaon area on Sunday night, a tense situation is prevailing on Monday morning, reports media.

Several students were seen leaving the residential halls of the Daffodil International University.

Tanvir Tahmid, a student of the university’s CSE department, said: “Locals attacked the students last night.

They attacked our residential hall and vandalized it.

This has raised concerns for the safety of the students.”

Considering this, the authorities have declared a university holiday.

The campus will be closed from Monday to November 16, he added.
