Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to visit Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from November 5-8 to attend the international conference on Women in Islam and bilateral talks on manpower and mutual investment.

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen said this during a curtain raiser held in the Foreign Ministry on Thursday.

Regarding PM’s visit, Dr Momen said the conference will focus on discussing the significant role Islam plays in upholding women’s rights and dignity.

It will shed light on how Islamic education and values have significantly contributed to the empowerment of women, he said.

Furthermore, the event will highlight the honour and respect Muslim women have earned by adhering to the teachings of Islam.

The conference will primarily focus on five key aspects of discussion.

At the conclusion of the conference, a publication titled “Jeddah Document of Women in Islam” will be released, shedding light on all aspects of women’s rights in Islam.

In addition, it aims to address the growing issue of Islamophobia around the world and explore ways to protect Muslim women from discrimination, the Foreign Minister said.
