AL set to declare counter progs

The Awami League has decided to foil the BNP’s three-day blockade program which is set to commence on Tuesday.
The ruling party will announce a series of programs across the country to protect the people and lives during the blockade of BNP, according to party insiders.
To set the programs, a meeting has been called at its central party office on 23 Bangabandhu Avenue on Monday morning.
The presidents and secretaries of the AL’s Dhaka City units and associated bodies have been asked to attend the meeting, reports media.
Several senior leaders on Sunday said they will not allow the opposition to enforce the blockade successfully and that they will thwart the gatherings at important points of the country in association with law enforcement agencies.
When asked, AL Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif said: “Earlier, we observed what they did in the name of blockade for a consecutive 93 days.
