DMP nab 4 abductors, rescue victim

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Monday rescued a youth kidnapped from Khilkhet Police Station area of the capital and held four persons for their alleged involvement in the incident.

The arrested were identified as Md. Iqbal Hossain Howlader, Md. Jahangir Jomaddar, Md. Raju and Md. Alamin.
The DMP seized a private car used in the kidnapping.

They also recovered five mobile phone sets, a knife, a towel, rope and Tk 94,700 from their possession.

Khilkhet Thana Police arrested them after raiding Salna Bazar of Gazipur’s Bason Police Station and Nikunja-2 area of Khilkhet in Dhaka.

On Monday morning, the kidnappers made a phone call to the victim’s father and demanded Tk 5 lakh as ransom for the release of his son.

Following the phone call, the victim’s father sent Tk 1 lakh 75 thousand to the kidnappers.

Later, he filed a complaint about the incident with Khilkhet Police Station.

Md Shahidullah, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Gulshan Division, said this at a press conference at his office on Tuesday.

DC further said two teams of Khilkhet Police Station were deployed after receiving the complaint.

A team of Khilkhet Police Station rescued the abducted Rimon on the same day with the help of information technology. Later, the team arrested the four.
