Mystery of killing Manikganj woman revealed

Two days after the discovery of the body of an unidentified woman buried under the sand of an under-construction building in Singair, the accused was arrested after unraveling the mystery of the murder. Manikganj Sadar police station arrested the accused.

Manikganj Superintendent of Police Mohammad Golam Azad Khan confirmed the matter in a press briefing at Manikganj Sadar Police Station on Friday afternoon.

It is known that due to a family dispute, Md. Babul (38) killed his second wife Rokhsana (45) and buried the body under the sand placed on the floor of the building under construction to hide the body. Roksana is the daughter of the deceased Chaizuddin of Baira Nayabari area of Singair upazila of the district.

Police Super Mohammad Golam Azad Khan said expatriate Roksana was murdered due to a trivial family incident. Babul was arrested from Khulna on Thursday night with the help of information technology. Babul confessed to killing Rokhsana during preliminary interrogation.

According to Sadar police sources, Babul, son of Sheikh Kashem Ali of Darikandi area of Harirampur upazila of Manikganj district, married Roksana secretly 3 years ago.
