Wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim of Bangladesh reached the 1000-run club on Thursday. H
e played against India in the fourth match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune of India on Thursday.
Mushfiqur Rahim needed four runs to reach the 1000-run club in ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup yesterday.
He scored 38 from 46 deliveries including one four and one sixer before he was dismissed by pacer Jasprit Bumrah. Mushfiqur Rahim is the second batter, who reached the 1000-run club in ICC ODI World Cup.
Earlier, Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team Shakib Al Hasan reached the 1000-run club in ICC ODI World Cup.
Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim both are playing matches of five ICC ODI World Cup.
Bangladesh played against India without ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. Shakib and Mushfiqur Rahim made their debut in the ICC ODI World Cup 2007.
Mushfiqur reached the 1000-run club in ICC ODI World Cup playing 34 innings.
Sri Lanka opener Sanath Jayasuriya also reached 1000-run club playing same innings.
Sri Lankan batter Mahela Jayawardene and Australian batter Adam Gilchrist entered the 1000-run club playing 31 innings.
Ross Taylor of New Zealand reached the 1000-run club playing 30 innings.
Mushfiqur Rahim is the player of Bangladesh who played highest innings in ICC ODI World Cup. Shakib Al Hasan played 30 innings in ICC ODI World Cup.
Tamim Iqbal played 29 innings, while Mashrafe Bin Mortaza played 24 innings.
A total of 22 cricketers reached the 1000-run elite club in ICC ODI World Cup.
Legend Indian opener Sachin Tendulkar is the highest scorer of ICC ODI World Cup.
He scored 2278 runs. Australian legend Ricky Ponting scored 1743 runs, while Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara scored 1532 runs.
