The minister made the remarks while talking to reporters after a meeting with a delegation of the International Labor Organization at his office at the secretariat.

“Nothing was mentioned in the constitution about the election-time government.

As I’ve mentioned before and saying again now, the prime minister has the authority to decide the number of ministers required during the election. If all are necessary, all will remain.

If a smaller size is preferred, that can be arranged as well.

It is within the prime minister’s discretion, as the constitution grants her this power.”

Responding to a question about the Labor Law, he said the cabinet has approved amendments to the Labor Law.

The ILO has provided input into the current amendments.

The ILO Country Director has conveyed their perspectives.
