SA Paribahan Building fire under control

Firefighters try to douse the fire that broke out at SA Paribahan Building at Kakrail in the capital on Monday.

A fire that broke out at SA Paribahan Building in capital’s Kakrail area on Monday was brought under control around 10:58am after 46 minutes of effort.

On information, 10 firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.

The fire service received information about the fire at 10:10 am in the morning.

Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters control room duty officer Lima Khanom confirmed the matter to the media on Monday noon.

The fire originated at the fourth floor of the building but the cause of the fire was not immediately known.

After the incident, Director of Fire Service and Civil Defense Lt. Colonel Rezaul Karim visited the spot and told the media that we still don’t know what kind of explosive or chemical it was.

Chemicals, crackers, explosives should not be kept with common goods and it is not acceptable in any way.

If they put chemicals together with common goods, they didn’t do the goof job.

It will be investigated and legal action will be taken later, Fire Service Director Colonel Rezaul Karim added.
