Sisimpur’s special episodes for hearing-impaired children

Some special episodes of Sisimpur have been
created for hearing-impaired children to mark the International Sign Language Day.

Sesame Workshop Bangladesh (SWB) has created a new version of the popular 13 episodes of Sisimpur by adding sign language to make them suitable for children.

The Society of the Deaf and Sign Language Users (SDSL), an organisation working for the development of hearing-impaired people, has helped to convert Sisimpur’s episodes into sign language, said a press release.

From this day onwards, Sisimpur’s special episodes made in sign language are being aired on Sisimpur’s social and digital platforms.

Apart from airing continuously on their platforms, special episodes of Sisimpur for hearing-impaired children will also be aired on television channels later.

Mohammad Shah Alam, Managing Director of Sisimpur, said, “Sisimpur aims to reach out to every child in Bangladesh.

As part of this, we have already published 10 story books of Sisimpur for visually impaired children in braille and distributed them among the children.

Now we are bringing a 13-episode special Sisimpur for hearing impaired children. We want to increase the number of episodes consistently.”
