New Zealand Cricket team won the three-match One Day International (ODI) series 2-0 against Bangladesh after defeating the Tigers by seven wickets in their last ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur on Tuesday.
Batting first Bangladesh made 171 off 34.3 overs.
In reply, New Zealand reached the winning target scoring 175 for the loss of three wickets when they had 91 balls to spare.
One-down Najmul Hossain Shanto and third-down Mushfiqur Rahim repaired the damage contributing together 53 runs for the fourth wicket partnership before Mushfiqur Rahim (18) was bowled out by Lockie Ferguson when the Tigers’ total was 88 for the loss of four wickets.
Shanto hit a marvelous 76.
His 84-ball innings was laced with 10 fours.
Shanto reached his fifth fifty-run landmark using 55 deliveries with seven fours.
Shanto was trapped leg before wicket by Cole McConchie when the home side’s score was 168 for the loss of seven wickets.
Milne was the day’s most successful bowler with four wickets in the space of 34 runs
Later, Will Young, Henry Nicholls helped their side to earn the victory.
Will Young hit 70, while Nicholls remained unbeaten with 50 runs.
Besides, Finn Allen and Tom Blundell scored 28 and 23 (not out) runs respectively.
Shoriful Islam bagged two wickets instead of 32 runs, while Nasum got one wicket conceding 50 runs.
