5 including 2 police constables arrested over robbing man at IFIC Bank

Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) Motijheel Division has arrested five persons including two policemen for allegedly entering IFIC Bank in Paltan and looting Tk 20 lakh.
The daring robbery took place around 2pm on Thursday.
The arrested constables have been identified as Mahabub and Asif. The other three robbers are one Sohel, footpath hawker Hridoy and his accomplice Manju.
According to the police, Azim Uddin, an employee of a businessman named Abdullah Al Mamun, went to the bank in the afternoon to deposit Tk 20 lakh.
As he entered the bank and stood in the queue to deposit the money, two men wearing police uniform dragged him out.
Later they ran away with Tk 20 lakh from him.
Paltan Thana-Police and DB Motijheel zonal team went to the spot after receiving the information.
After seeing the CCTV footage, the hawker Hridoy and his accomplice Manju were arrested on the pavement in front of the bank.
Then they were interrogated by the police. According to the information given by them, DB arrested two members of closed police Constable Mahabub and Constable Asif along with Tk 10 lakh from Demra police line.
After that, the police arrested Sohel along with another Tk 10 lakh.
