Inception workshop held in BARI

Postharvest Technology Division and Olericulture Division, Horticulture Research Centre of Bangladesh Agriculture Research Institute (BARI) organized a workshop on “Up-scaling and Piloting for Commercialization of Fried Fresh-cut Chips from Selected Crops using Vacuum Frying Technology” & “Community Based Sustainable Vegetable Production: Elevating Quality Seed Production, Processing, Marketing and Expansion of BARI Released Varieties in Bangladesh” at the seminar room of BARI Wednesday.

The program was funded by Dutch Bangla Bank Limited (DBBL), Dhaka. Scientists, and officers of different centers, and divisions participated in the program.

BARI Director General Dr. Debasish Sarker was present as chief guest.

Prof. Dr. Md. Monjurul Alam, Chairman, DBBL-CSR Program Expert Committee, DBBL HQ, Dhaka was present as guest of honor. BARI Director (Support & Services) Dr. Ferdouse Islam presided over the function while Dr. Engr. Md. Abdur Razzaque Akanda, Program Coordinator, DBBL-CSR-GraTA Secretariat, Dhaka and Mr. Farhad Ahmed Khan, Senior Executive Vice President & Head, SME-BBD, DBBL HQ, Dhaka were present as special guests.

Chief Scientific Officer of Postharvest Technology Division Mr. Md. Hafizul Haque Khan gave the welcome address. Chief Scientific Officer (Acting) of Olericulture Division, Horticulture Research Centre Dr. AKM Quamruzzaman, and Senior Scientific Officer of Postharvest Technology Division Dr. Md. Golam Ferdous Chowdhury presented their project activities.
