Captain of Bangladesh Women’s Under-17 Football team Ruma Akter said, ” We want to win our three group matches.

After winning three matches, we want to play in the third round (final phase).

Bangladesh Women’s Under-17 Football team became champions in the first round, which was held Singapore in last April.

The top eight teams of each group of the first round will play in the second round.

The eight teams splitting into two groups will take part in the second round.

Earlier, Bangladesh Women’s Under-17 Football team played in the final round in 2017 and 2019.

The edition of 2021 was not held due to coronavirus pandemic.

Bangladesh, hosts Vietnam, Philippines and Australia will play in the second round.

The champions of this group and the champions of the other group will play in the final round.

Besides, hosts Indonesia, North Korea, China and Japan will directly play in the final round.

The final round will be held in 2024.

The final round has been named AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup Indonesia 2024.

Coach of Bangladesh Women’s team Mahbubur Rahman Litu said, ” The other three teams of our group are stronger than us.

My girls we try to present their best.”

Earlier, Head Coach Golam Rabbani Choton and Technical Director of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Paul Smalley had supervised Bangladesh Women’s Football team since 2016.

But both of them submitted resignation to BFF recently.

Litu said, ” In absence of them, I don’t feel any extra pressure.

I am going to abroad as a Coach with my team. I want to act my duty properly.

Member of Bangladesh Under-17 Women’s Football team will leave the Dhaka for Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam on September 18.

Marking the upcoming football meet, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangladesh Football Federation House on Thursday.

Chairperson of the Women’s Wing of BFF Mahfuza Akter Kiron, Coach Mahbubur Rahman Litu, Captain Ruma Akter were present at the conference, among others.
