Shooting of Farooki’s ‘Monogamy’ on Metro Rail with Chanchal and Xefer

Bangladesh has entered the era of metro rail. There is no end to the people of the capital with this modern mode of transportation. For the first time, director Mostafa Sarwar Farooki shot any Metro Rail only.
He ismaking a web film titled ‘Monogamy’. A part of it was shot at Metro Rail.
Chanchal Chowdhury and Xefer Rahman took part in the shooting at Metro Rail directed by Farooki.
It is noted that Mostofa Sarwar Farooki’s ‘Ministry of Love’ will feature 12 projects which will be helmed by 12 noted directors.
Farooki himself will be directing two projects – ‘Something Like an Autobiography’ and ‘Last Defenders of Monogamy’.
The latter will feature a unique pair – Chanchal Chowdhury, Xefer Rahman, Samina Husain Prema will also be part of the project which kicked off on August 15.
For the web film, Chanchal Chowdhury put on a middle-aged look with grey hair and moustache while Xefer Rahman looked unrecognisable in a cotton sari.
The singer Xefer looked sophisticated in glasses and her unique look is sure to caught everyone’s attention.
While talking about the project, director Farooki informed that he wanted to tell stories which give an insight into people’s psychology.
“After a long time, I was able to dig into the aspect of male-female relationship with ‘Last Defender of Monogamy’.
”Director Farooki also reflected upon what made him choose Chanchal Chowdhury for the role.
While talking in this regard, he said, “I have a wonderful relation with Chanchal Chowdhury and the role that he plays in the web film is quite unique from his other roles, which brings a freshness to his character.
We know Xefer as a singer but in this web film, she will look unrecognisable. Her character will add a depth to the story which will attract the audience.”
Actor Chanchal Chowdhury said, “The ‘Last Defenders of Monogamy’ has a unique plot.
There are some psychological aspects in the movie which will make the audience think. My character’s look is different from anything I have portrayed on-screen.”
The song ‘Jhumka’ famed singer Xefer Rahman, who has made headlines with her husky voice and fashion statement, will make her acting debut with the web film.
While talking about her work experience in this web film, Xefer Rahman told media, “As a singer, I have appeared on the screen before.
But I will appear as an actor for the first time through ‘Monogamy.’ This is a very gratifying, yet challenging subject for me.
It’s really wonderful to have Chanchal Chowdhury as a co-artiste. I really got to learn a lot about acting through this web film.”
