News Desk :

This year’s HSC and equivalent exams began on Thursday. 10,05,856 students are sitting for this examination under eight general education boards.
However, the HSC exams for the remaining 3 education boards (Chattogram, Technical and Madrasa) postponed due to natural calamities will begin on August 27. There are 3,53,486 candidates in these three education boards.
It is learned that the written exams will continue till September 25 in eight General Education Boards. The practical exams will start on September 26 and will end on October 4.
This year, the exam was scheduled to be held in the full syllabus, but at the last minute, it was decided to conduct the exam in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) with 75 marks instead of 100 marks.
Compared to last year, 1,55,935 candidates have increased this year. However, the number of educational institutions decreased by 12, the centers, on the other hand, increased by 9.
Convener of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and Chairman of Dhaka Education Board Prof. Tapan Kumar Sarkar said that all preparations have been made to take the examination properly. There is no chance of question paper leakage. And those involved in question paper management are also being “strictly monitored”.
Usually, the HSC exam starts in April every year, but due to the COVID pandemic, taking the exams in that month in the last few years has not been possible. In 2020, students were given HSC certificates without taking exams due to the COVID-19 outbreak. In 2021 and 2022, the exams were conducted on a short syllabus.
This time it was decided to start the examination in July with the full syllabus, however, postponed due to the non-completion of the syllabus.
