Shibir activist held for threatening BSMMU doctor

The Rapid Action Batttalion (RAB) has arrested one youth named Tafshirul Islam for his alleged involvement in issuing threat to BSMMU doctor Prof SM Mostofa Zaman out of personal anger.
The RAB claimed that the arrested youth is an active member of Islami Chhatra Shibir and he
confessed to the elite force his involvement in the matter. Commander Khan-daker Al Moin, legal and media wing director of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), confirmed this at a press briefing at its media center at Karwanbazar in the city on Thursday morning.
Earlier Rab arrested him from Maheshpur in Jhenaidah on Wednesday midnight.
Tafshirul Islam is an active Shibir member and his father Rafiqul Islam Rofi also an active member of Jamaat-e-Islami. Rofi is an accused in a number of cases and also served jail term.
After the death of the Jamaat leader Delwar Hossain Sayeedi, physician Mostofa Zaman received death threats from certain individuals on his messenger.
Later on Tuesday night, he filed a general diary (GD) with Dhanmondi Police Station.
