Chamak has been found guilty, she will have to pay compensation in addition to apologising

Entertainment Desk :
More than 10 days ago, chaos erupted on the sets of the television drama titled ‘Shwoshur Barite Prothom Din’ an incident took place when female lead actress Rukaiya Jahan Chamak allegedly harassed her co-artistes verbally at a shooting house in the capital’s Uttara area.

Apparently the actress not only verbally accosted her elderly co-star Masum Basher, there were also claims of her allegedly trying to hit the actor.

Furthermore, Chamak also alleged that another of her co-star Arosh Khan, had tried to make inappropriate advances towards her, said
a press release.

On Monday, a statement was released from Actors Equity Bangladesh that chronicled the results of the investigation conducted after Chamak’s claims.

The meeting took place on Sunday afternoon at Niketon in the capital.

Present at the meeting were members of Director’s Guild, Actors Equity Bangladesh and Television and Digital Programme Producers’ Associations of Bangladesh (TELEPAB).

The meeting was headed by the president of TELEPAB, Monowar Hossain Pathan.

After hearing the accounts of Chamak, director Adib Hasan and actor Arosh Khan, it was deduced that the allegations
and defamation Chamak has caused are entirely unsupported.

Thus after some consideration, the following decisions were presented:
* In the presence of ‘Shwoshur Barite Prothom Din’ producer, director and veteran actor Masum Basher, Rukaiya Jahan Chamak will formally offer her apologies.

* Chamak will be liable to pay whatever amount left to complete the drama, as damages.

* The General Diary done against Arosh Khan and Adib Hasan by Chamak, will have to be absolved.

* Chamak will have to sign a written agreement which states that if something similar happens again, she will accept whatever punishment the Equity will give her.

She will be observed closely for the next six months.

* Members will have to place complaints to their associated committees instead of posting on social media.

* Strict actions will be taken against those who’d disrupt the sanctity of a shooting set.

After much consideration and meetings, it was mutually concluded that whatever happened that day on set, occurred due to ‘heat of the moment’.

Actress Chamak has comprehended her mistake and apologised to her co-stars, Masum Basher and Arosh Khan.

Since the incident occurred on the set of the drama, she has also stated that she will offer her apology in front of the unit as well.

She also expressed her apology to Arosh, citing that she will withdraw the complaint filed against him and Adib Hasan.

Chamak also presented a written promise to the Actors Equity that such incidents will not happen again.
