Police to carry out block raid marking Aug 15

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) will start a ‘block raid’ in several areas in the Dhaka city marking the upcoming national mourn day (August 15).

Khandaker Golam Faruq, the commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) directed the concerned police stations and forces in this regard on Saturday (August 12).

Sources said, DMP’s crime and intelligence departments have been instructed to conduct block raids and search operations in all residential hotels, messes, and slums.

Block raids have been ordered to avert kind of anarchy, chaos, and subversive activities on the upcoming August 15.

Around the day the stern initiatives have been taken so that no terrorist-sabotaging militant group can take shelter or position in any area including houses, residential hotels and messes.

Instructions were given to conduct block raids and special operations from August 12 to August 14 to thwart and arrest them, DMP sources added.
