13 suspected militants held in Moulvibazar

Members of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) Unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have detained 13 people, including six women and three children, after a raid in a suspected den of militants in Kulaura upazila of Moulvibazar district.
During the raid, the police also recovered huge bombs, explosives, cash money and training materials from there.
Mohammad Asaduzzaman, the Chief of CTTC unit, on Saturday said that they detained 13 people after conducting the raid in the militant hideout at Jugitila village in Kormodha union.
Four men, six women and three children are among the detainees.
The CTTC chief said the arrested are members of a newly-floated organization ‘Imam Mahmuder Kafela’.
This group is not included in the list of banned terrorist organisations in Bangladesh. They bought land from Dubai expatriate Rafiq Mia and built a few houses.
“We have also got the name of the key person of this organisation. We will continue our drives to find out him”, he said.
The detainees have been identified as Hafiz Ullah, 25, of Kishoreganj, Rafiul Islam, 22, of Sirajganj, Maisha Islam, 20, of Natore, Sanjida Khatun, 18, of Bogura, Shariful Islam, 40, Amina Begum, 40, and Habiba Binte Shafiqul, 20, of Satkhira, Shapla Begum, 22, and 18-month-old Jubeda and Hujaifa, 6, of Pabna, Khairul Islam, 22, Meghna, 17, and 12-month-old Abida, of Narayanganj, Three kilograms explosives and 50 detonators were recovered from their possession, the CTTC Chief added.
