Sagar-Runi murder case Probe report submission deferred for 100th time

The investigation report is being delayed in the court as the real culprits in the murder case of journalist couple Sagar Sarwar and Mehrun Runi have not yet been identified.
Two suspects have been found in this incident. Attempts are being made to identify them.
The elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) is seriously investigating the murder case of journalist couple Sagar-Runi, said RAB legal and media wing director commander Khandaker Al Moin.
He gave this information in response to a question at a press conference at the RAB Media Center on Monday.
He said, “We have sent DNA samples to a company in the United States. In the report from there, samples of two suspects have been found.
We are yet to identify these two suspects. Efforts are underway to identify them. We are investigating the murder case of journalist couple Sagar Runi on the orders of the court.
The investigation report we will give here so that no innocent person is victimized in any way. He said, “We are investigating the journalist couple’s murder with the utmost sincerity and importance.
In very few murder cases, it happens that the evidence is sent to a company in the United States for DNA testing.
However, in this case, we have sent the evidence to a company in the United States to test the DNA of the evidence.”
“Our main objective is to find the real criminals through investigation. No one should be victimized here. In many cases, a person is not involved in the incident at all, yet his name appears in the court report.
There are others who know nothing about the incident, but have been in jail for a long time. We do not want to get involved in such debates,” he added.
It is to be noted that a Dhaka court has fixed September 11 which made the 100th extension of the deadline for submission of the probe report in the murder case of journalist couple Sagar Sarowar and Meherun Runi as the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) failed to submit the report.
