Bangladesh National Football team will play two FIFA International friendly matches against Afghanistan National Football team on September 4 and September 7.
The venue of the two FIFA International friendly matches has not yet finalized.
According to the latest FIFA ranking Bangladesh have taken the 189th position, while Afghanistan have achieved the 157th spot.
The two FIFA international friendly matches will be held marking the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers and AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers.
Bangladesh will take on Maldives in the first leg of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in Maldives on October 12, while Bangladesh will face Maldives in the second leg of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers on October 17.
According to the latest FIFA ranking Maldives have attained the 155th position. The winners of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers will play in the next round.
If Bangladesh win over Maldives, Bangladesh will play against Australia, Palestine and Lebanon.
Vice-President of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) and Chairman of the National Team Management Committee of BFF Kazi Nabil Ahmed said, ” We shall play two FIFA International friendly matches against Afghanistan on September 4 and September 7.
We shall reveal the venue of the two matches later. The matches will be held marking the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers and AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers.”
Head Coach of Bangladesh Football team Javier Cabrera is scheduled to arrive in the country on August 9. The coaching camp for the Bangladesh National Football team will start from August 20.
Afghanistan National Football team will arrive in Bangladesh on August 28.
Before playing two FIFA International friendly football matches against Bangladesh, Afghanistan National Football team will take part in an almost seven-day long training camp in Bangladesh.
It may be mentioned that Bangladesh showed a satisfactory performance in the recently concluded SAFF Championship at Bengaluru in India. Bangladesh reached the semi-final of that gala football meet.
They resisted their mighty opponent Kuwait in the stipulated ninety-minute match. Later, they tasted a 1-0 goal defeat to Kuwait in the extra-time.
