New committee of BPJA, Sylhet formed

Bangladesh Photojournalists Association (BPJA) Sylhet Divisional Committee has elected new leadership for 2023-2024 on Monday.
Association President Sheikh Ashraful Alam Nasir Presided over and General Secretary Ashkar Ibn Amin Lashkar Rabbi conducted the meeting.
Abdul Batin Faisal of Daily Sylheter Dak was elected as president after receiving 18 votes. Dulal Hossain, a photojournalist of his rival daily Sylhet Bani, got 9 votes. On the other hand, daily Sylhetersomoy photo journalist Md. Nurul Islam was elected general secretary after receiving 17 votes. His rival daily Shubo Pratidin’s Sheikh Abdul Majeed got 10 votes.
Mahmud Hossain, a photojournalist of daily Manabzamin Sylhet, was elected treasurer unopposed. Election Commissioner Bangladesh Photojournalists Association Sylhet Divisional Committee founding advisor journalists Ataur Rahman Ata, Aftab Uddin and Sheikh Ashraful Alam Nasir announced the results at 11 pm. Others in the newly formed committee are Senior Vice-President Yusuf Ali (Samakal), Vice-President Humayun Kabir Liton (Jalalabad), Deputy General Secretary Shaheen Ahmad (Jugveri), Publicity and Publications Secretary Subrata Das (Uttorpurbo), Sports and Cultural Secretary Reza. Rubel (Shyamal Sylhet), Information and Technology Editor Pallab Bhattacharya (Uttorpurbo), Sheikh Ashraful Alam Nasir (Daily Star), Ashkar Ibn Amin Lashkar Rabbi (Voice of Time), Anis Mahmud (Protomalo), Md. Nurul Islam (Uttorpurbo), Anwar Hossain (Inqilab), ATM Turab (Jalalabad). Mamun Hassan, Javed Ahmad, Nazmul Kabir Pavel, Iqbal Munsi, H Arif, Kayes Ahmad, Shankar Das, Iqbal Munsi, HM Shahidul Islam, SM Sujan, Abu Bakar, Belayet Hossain, Shipon Ahmad, Ajmal Ali Abdul Khaliq, Ekram Hossain, Mamun Hossain were present in the bi-annual conference.
