Anniv, News-24 TV celebrated

The 8th founding anniversary of News-24, a newly established TV Channel of the country was celebrated here in a befitting manner on Sunday morning under the auspices of its Bagerhat district based correspondent Shaikh.Ahsanul Karim.
On the occasion a colourful rally that was brought out from Bagerhat Press Club premises paraded the main roads of the district town and ended at the same venue. It was led by Md. Khalid Hossain, newly posted DC (Deputy Commissioner), Bagerhat, K M Ariful Haq (PPM), Police Super, Bagerhat and Nihar Ranjan Saha, President of Bagerhat Press Club.
It was followed with a lively discussion meeting held in the auditorium of Bagerhat Press Club with its President Nihar Ranjan Saha in the chair. The address of welcome was given by (the TV channel correspondent) Shaikh Ahsanul Karim and explained the aims and objections of the channel. Md. Khalid Hossain, DC, Bagerhat while he was addressing the discussion meeting as the chief guest he told, a TV channel can play a very important and vital role for the development and prosperity of a newly born democratic and welfare country like Bangladesh. He wished the longevity and prosperity of the TV channel. K M Ariful Haq, Police Super of Bagerhat, addressed the meeting as the special guest and said the importance of a TV channel in the modern society as well as in a modern country is very important. It was also addressed among others by Prof. ABM. Mosharraf Husain, senior most member of the Press Club and Bagerhat district based correspondent of the daily New Nation, Shahadat Hossain Baschu, a former General Secretary of the Press Club and at present a Coordinator of a Khulna based NGO and wished the longevity of the TV channel. Nihar Ranjan Saha, President of the Press Club and the president of the meeting thanked all including the chief guest, special guest and all others who attended the function.
