Indian phone sets seized

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized smart phone sets worth around Tk 1 cr smuggled from India at the Ramgarh border in Khagrachhari.
The mobile phone sets were seized from the Kheda Bridge area of Ramgarh bordering India at around 2.30 am on Saturday. At noon on Sunday in Taichalapara, Ramgarh, 43 BGB battalion headquarters, the battalion commander Lt. Col Md. Abu Bakar Siddique Saimum PSC, G informed this information in a press briefing.
He also said that based on secret information, a 13-member patrol led by BGB Kashibari BOP Naib Subedar Md. Matiur Rahman started going to Kheda Bridge area. After the smugglers crossed the border Feni river from India and entered into Bangladesh, the smugglers fled leaving behind cartoon smart mobile phone sets when challenged by the BGB.
Among the 320 Indian smart mobile phone sets seized, there are sets from 14 companies including Vivo, Oppo, Samsung, Mi, Sympney, Realme. Among the seized sets are 2 sets worth a maximum of two lakh taka. The BGB Commander said that this is the first case of seizure of smart mobile phone sets at the Ramgarh border. The seized smart mobile sets will be deposited at Sitakund Customs, Chittagong.
Held BSF man handed over by flag meet

A member of Border Security Force (BSF) of India was held by BGB as he entered into Bangladesh illegally at Sonahat Border under Bhurungamari upazila in Kurigram on Thursday night .
He is Sree Sonu Kumar Jetop. BGB handed over him to BSF after four hours holding flag meeting between Bangladesh-India.
Local sources said the BSF man entered into Bangladesh territory inside 300 years from international main pillar no 1007 of Sonahat border under Bhurungamari upazila where he was held.
BGB sources said the BSF man, a constable of Bish khawa -31 BSF camp in India was wondering suspiciously at BSC crossing adjacent Sonahat land port.
Locals suspected and held him. Hearing the news the BGB members of Sonahat and Baburhat BOP camp under Kurigram-22 BGB Battalion rushed there immediately.
Later locals handed the BSF man over BGB members.
The BSF man Sonu Kumar Jetop informed that he developed an extra marital affairs with a married woman near the camp into India. He has gone to meet with his lover in drunker position, sensing the presence of BSF man the husband of the woman and villagers chased him at night on Thursday. Finding no alternative way to save the life he entered into Bangladesh territory crossing the border.
When locals held him he expressed sorrow to BGB. Later the matter was informed to Sonahar camp commander and BSF camp. BSF also requested to BGB to return to BGB man. BGB members however returned the BSF man holding a flag meeting after 12.00 pm in the same day.Director of Kurigram-22 BGB Battalion Lt. Col.Abdul Muttakim ensured the incident.
