India Women’s Cricket team recorded a thrilling eight-run win over Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team in their second Twenty20 International (T20I) match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur on Tuesday.
Electing to bat first, India scored 95 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and then all out Bangladesh for 87 off 20 overs.
India made a good start with two openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Varma put on together 33 runs in the opening stand before Mandhana was trapped leg before wicket by Nahida Akter.
Mandhana hit a run-a-ball 13 with two fours.

After dismissal of Mandhana, India failed to build any notable partnership.
Shafali Varma was the top scorer of India. She notched up 19 runs using 14 deliveries including four fours before she was dismissed by Sultana Khatun.
Sixth-down Amanjot Kaur made 14 from 17 deliveries hitting two fours.
Besides, Yastika Bhatia and Deepti Sharma added 11 and 10 runs to the India total.

Sultana Khatun captured three wickets in the space of 21 runs, while Fahima Khatun bagged a pair of wickets at the cost of 16 runs.
Nahida Akter, Rabeya Khan and Maufa Akter took one wicket each for 14, 16 and 28 runs respectively.
Bangladesh lost their early four wickets for 30 runs.
Then Nigar Sultana and Shorna Akter repaired the damage contributing together 34 runs for the fifth wicket partnership before Shorna Akter (7) was caught & bowled by Deepti Sharma when Bangladesh’ score was 64 for the loss of five wickets.

After Shorna Akter’s dismissal, Nigar Sultana and Nahida Akter scored together 22 runs in the six-wicket stand before Nigar Sultana was stumped out by wicketkeeper Yastika Bhatia off Deepti Sharma when Bangladesh’s score was 86 for the loss six wickets.
Nigar Sultana hit a Captain’s knock of 38. Her 55-ball innings was decorated with two fours.
After Nigar’s departure, all batters of Bangladesh failed to resist India’s bowling attack.

Deepti Sharma and Shafali Varma grabbed three wickets each instead of 12 and 15 runs respectively, while Minnu Mani bagged two wickets at the cost of nine runs. Deepti Sharma was adjudged the Player of the Match.
Besides, Bareddy Anusha took one wicket for 20 runs.
