RHDC distributes stipend among 650 students

With a view to encouraging meritorious and poor students in educational activities, Rangamati Hill District Council (RHDC) distributed stipend of Taka 62 lakh among 650 students studying in different educational institutions across the country in 2023.
Dipankar Talukdar MP, president of the parliamentary standing committee of the Ministry of Food as the chief guest handed over the cheques of the stipend to the students formally on July 6.
Of the total taka of the stipend, each of 220 students studying in HSC (150 students) and diploma (70 students) got Taka seven (7) thousand, each of 250 students studying in BA pass (90 students) and honors (160 students) was given Taka 10 thousand and each of 180 students studying in master degree (90 students), medical, engineering and agriculture (90 students) universities received Taka 12 thousand.
Aungsuipro Chowdhury, chairman of the RHDC presided over the stipend distribution ceremony where Md Ashraful Islam, chief executive officer and Priyonondo Chakma, a member and convener of the Education Committee of the RHDC were present as special guests.
Besides, members of the RHDC Aungsuichhain Chowdhury, Remliana Pangkhowa, and Jhorna Kisha delivered their speech in the function held on July 6 at the conference room of the organization, a press release of the RHDC said.
The RHDC has been allocating stipend for local meritorious and poor students studying in different educational institutions across the country every year since its inception in 1989.
