Women raped in lure of job

A 40-years old woman has been allegedly raped by a man in the capital in the name of giving her a job. The victim is now undergoing treatment at the One Stop Crisis Center (OCC) of the Dhaka Medical College & Hospital (DHMC).

It is reported that the incident took place at an office in Segunbagicha area in the capital on Tuesday night around 8 pm.
Relatives of the victim said that the woman used to live with her paralyzed husband in Mahuttuli of Old Dhaka. A few months ago, the woman was crying when she went to the High Court Shrine (Majar).Then a man approached her and asked why she was crying. When the woman told about her family’s poverty and husband’s illness, the man offered her a job.
At that time the person said that he will contact her later over his mobile phone number.

On Tuesday afternoon, the person called the woman and asked her to come to the fourth floor of GK Tower in Segunbagicha. The man was sitting in a small office there.
After going there, the man wants to know about various things including woman educational qualification. At one point, he offered her physical relationship. The woman’s relatives also said that the person said that she had to agree to the offer to get the job.
