Shakib to play for Rangpur Riders in BPL

Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will play for Rangpur Riders in the next year’s Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). He will play in the BPL 2024. Member Secretary of Governing Council of BPL Ismail Haider Mallick confirmed this matter on Tuesday.

Earlier, Shakib Al Hasan played for Fortune Barishal in the BPL 2022 and 2023.
Fortune Barishal played in the final of the BPL 2022. They lost to Comilla Victorians in the final by one run. Thus, Fortune Barishal became runners-up in that year’s shorter version cricket meet.
Fortune Barishal played in the play-off stage of the BPL 2023. They finished fourth as they lost to Rangpur Riders by four wickets.

After conceding defeat in the ‘Last Four’ of BPL 2023, Shakib Al Hasan, the best all-rounder of world cricket decided to change his team in BPL.
The BPL 2024 is scheduled to be held from February 6. But the BPL may be move back due to National Parliament Election.
