BD U-23 team clinch one-dayer series 2-0

One team scored 89 runs without a wicket. Another team scored 58 runs and lost 5 wickets. However, on Friday the second team won at the Bashundhara Sports Complex in the capital. The second team were Bangladesh Under-23 Cricket team.

The Bangladesh Under-23 Cricket team won the three-match one-dayer series 2-0 with one match in hand by defeating the Malaysian National Cricket team by 3 wickets in the second one-day match.

Sheikh Parvez, who won the Man of the Match award in the victory of the Bangladesh team in the first match, became the Man of the Match on Friday.

He took 5 wickets yesterday, like in the previous match. Parvez, who took 5 wickets for 16 runs in the first match, gave away 23 runs in 8 overs to grab five wickets on Friday.

Aslam Khan Malik and Saif Ullah Malik gave Malaysia an opening partnership of 89 runs. Parvez broke the partnership by bowling Saif, who had made 25 runs.

Although Aslam held one end, Malaysia lost one wicket after another and were all out for 176 runs.

Aslam scored exactly 100 runs off 107 balls before being dismissed as the number nine batter. Parvez took the fifth wicket after bowling out the centurion Aslam.

Bangladesh Under-23 Cricket team, who lost 5 wickets for 58 runs in the run chase, were rescued by the sixth wicket partnership of Ahrar Amin and Debashis Sarkar of 92 runs. Both scored fifties.
