Bangladesh National football team returned home on Monday following the Bangabandhu SAFF Championship in Bengaluru, India. Bangladesh showed impressive performance in the SAFF by reaching semifinal after fourteen years. Bangladesh, who won the championship in 2003, started their campaign losing their opening game in Group B against Lebanon 2-0 but staged a brilliant fight back with a 3-1 win over Maldives before sealed a second-spot finish in the group with a 3-1 win against lowly Bhutan. The boys in red-and-green jersey holders eventually lost a fighting 1-0 defeat to superior Kuwait showing incredible effort for over 120 minutes.
