Two held for auto driver murder

Members of RAB-14 have arrested two people involved in the auto-rickshaw robbery in Tarakanda Upazila of Mymensingh, after killing the auto-rickshaw driver. They were arrested from Joy Bangla Bazaar in Tarakanda on Friday.
RAB 14 Commander Mahibul Islam Khan said that accused Ratan and Suman Mia planned to collect their loan money by robbing autorickshaws. Accused Ratan went to Joy Bangla Bazar from Shambhuganj Bridge by hiring Khalek’s autorickshaw on Wednesday (June 28) the day before Eid. On the way, Suman took an autorickshaw. Ratan puts the driver Khalek in the back of the autorickshaw and Suman continues to drive the autorickshaw. Ratan and Suman tied a rope around Khalek’s neck in an empty place in Kamaria village and after strangling him, threw him into a pond on the side of the road and fled in an auto-rickshaw. On Thursday (June 29) morning, the police recovered Khalek’s body from the pond.
