Complete animal sacrifice within two-day of Eid: DSCC Mayor

Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh has urged city dwellers to complete animal sacrifices within the two days of Eid-ul-Azha.
“I would humbly request the city dwellers to finish the animal sacrifice by the second day of Eid”, the DSCC mayor said it while talking to journalists after inaugurating the Interim Waste Transfer Centre of Khilgaon Railway Kitchen Market in Ward-11 in the capital on Wednesday.
He said city corporation waste management team will work 72 hours at a stretch to dispose of all the waste of the sacrificial animals.
These workers also need to take rest and enjoy the Eid holiday with their families as well, he said.
“After working for 72 hours to keep Dhaka clean and ensure that Eid is joyous and hassle-free for everyone, the city corporation manpower should get the opportunity to rest and enjoy the festival with their families as well,” he said.
Replying to a query on controlling the Aedes mosquito menace in the city, the DSCC mayor said they are aware about it and will tackle the spread of Aedes mosquitoes like previous year.
He said they have taken all the preparations and plans in this regard.
Dhaka South City Corporation Secretary Akramuzzaman, Chief Property Officer Russell Sabrin, Chief Waste Management Officer Md Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury, among others, were present at the event.
