Assault of lawyer protested in Barishal

Members of Barishal District Lawyers Association formed a human chain and an agitation rally protesting assault on Mymensingh lawyer Advocate Ashikur Rahman by Additional DIG Enamul Huq demanded immediate withdrawal and exemplary punishment of the attacker.
The programme held on Monday (June 19) noon in front of Barishal District Bar Association amid downpour.

Barishal District Lawyers Association President Advocate Faizul Haque Faiz presided over and General Secretary Advocate Delwar Munsi conducted the program ignoring the rain.
Among others Advocate Anis Uddin Shahid, Advocate Obaidullah Saju, former presidents, Advocate Sheikh Md Tipu Sultan, former Member of Parliament , Advocate Mujibar Rahman addressed the protest meeting and human chain program. Rahman, Advocate Samsuzzaman Nayan, Advocate Atiqur Rahman Riaz, Advocate Anwar Hossain Mizan, addressed the programme.
The speakers demanding speedy trial and exemplary punishment of Additional DIG Enamul Kabir and expressed their solidarity with the protest programmes of the lawyers throughout the country.
A memorandum also sent to the ministry of home and ministry of law to press home their demands including immediate withdrawal of Enamul Kabir along with speedy trial and exemplary punishment in this regard.
