Plantation programme held in Bhawal forest

Various species of short-term garden saplings were planted under the initiative of the Gazipur Bhawal Range Forest Department under the Dhaka Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation Department.
A 75-acre short-term garden was inaugurated in Bhavanipur Pingail area of Sadar Upazila Saturday for environmental development and conservation of biodiversity.
Divisional Forest Officer of Wildlife and Nature Conservation Department Sharmin Akhter inaugurated the short term 25 acre new garden and third cycle 50 acre garden.
Before this, the land of the forest department, which was seized by various industries, resorts and local people, was recovered and planted with forest and fruit trees including rare and endangered species.
As a result of creating this garden, the leaders and workers of environmentalist organizations believe that they will play a leading role in protecting the environment and balance.
They believe that on the one hand, as the environment balance will be preserved, on the other hand, local beneficiaries including the people of the area will benefit from financial and social development. And will play a leading role in environmental development and conservation of biodiversity in the protection of forest resources. As a result, Bhawal forest will return to its former position.
Bhawal range officer Masud Rana of wildlife management and nature conservation department, Rajendrapur west beat, officer Kamruzzaman Molla, Baruipara beat officer Abul Kalam Samsuddin, local Awami League leader Manisha Barman and other individuals were present during the planting of garden saplings.
