Age limit for govt jobs should be 35yrs: Raushan

Staff Reporter :
Chief Patron of Jatiya Party (JaPa) and Leader of the Opposition in Jatiya Sangsad Begum Raushan Ershad said in a statement on Sunday that the age limit for government job application should be increased from 30 years to 35 years.

She also said the period of job application in 162 countries of the world is from 35years to 59 years.
Age is not important but qualification is matter, she said adding that this deadline is not consistent with other countries in the world.
According to the statement, 28 years is generally passed to complete the academic education. “After 30 years of studying hard having no job, frustration arises, certificate becomes useless , which is very sad and touches our hearts,” she said.

The opposition party leader said that the rate of education and higher education has increased during the tenure of this government. Unemployment is increasing. To eliminate this unemployment problem, it is not enough to educate the students in the traditional way.

Importance should be given to technical education. Educating only through diploma courses in the private sector will not be enough. Higher education should be opened for technical education. Technical education should be introduced immediately in every government, private college and university. She also said that only BCS exam cannot be considered. Because only 4 to 5 thousand job seekers get jobs in the BCS exam every year. And the number of unemployed youths is over 26 lakhs now. Considering all, they must be provided with employment as soon as possible.
